DDGM Messages for 2004-2005

…presented at Ozias Lodge No.508, Burford, November 20, 2004.

Good afternoon brethern and it is indeed a pleasure to be here in ozias this saturday afternoon. In continuing with our thenme this year of communication and how regular masons can make a difference I have a few thoughts for you today. Recently there has been some publicity regarding masonry with the tv program aired on vision tv and last saturday article in the national post which many of you have read or heard about. This i believe is positive for our fraternity and shows us in a good light. One of the great benefits of our order is the opportunity to communicate as eauals within our lodges and in our communities and to the world for that matter. You should not be ashamed to tell your friends and neighbours about some of the things we are involved with. The childrens safety village, drug addiction help programs bursaries to under privileged tens to complete their education.

Being a mason is about growth and development of a man as a human being and his desire to help his community. The more effective we communicate the more we validate the excellence of our fraternity. The more positive we can be to our fellow men and women the more successful we become, success is not about wealth or money, it's about being a truly honourable individual, it's about making someone smile, it's about helping someone feel better about themselves and promoting harmony throughout the world. This starts and ends with you and with me. We can make a difference every day by trying to be a better person every day and thanking god at the end of that day by showing true humility and gratitude. God bless .
